Who we are: Christ Church Cathedral, a vibrant Episcopal Cathedral in the heart of Lexington, is seeking an outgoing priest to equip and lead our ministries for mission and discipleship. We are looking for a clergy member who is adept at mobilizing volunteers and equipping teams in a multi-employee environment, and cultivating relationships with our mission partners in greater Lexington.

It is the horse capital of the world, the birthplace of bourbon, home to world-class universities and close to the monastery of Thomas Merton, whose generous spirituality continues to influence Lexington today. Position Summary

The Associate Rector for Mission and Discipleship will be an integral member of the Christ Church Cathedral clergy team taking his or her leadership role on preaching, teaching, and pastoral rotation. They will also act as a spiritual guide in the areas of mission, discipleship and healing. Christ Church Cathedral has a long history of raising awareness in Lexington to address affordable housing, healthcare and hunger needs. The Associate Rector will support and encourage a lay mission team capable of discerning new mission opportunities and leading existing efforts. The cathedral also has a well-developed discipleship journey that helps members discover their next steps in spiritual growth. The Associate Rector will help youth and adult members along this journey. The cathedral has thirteen pastoral teams led by a lay pastoral coordinator. The Associate Rector will be a spiritual guide for the Pastoral Coordinator.
