Craig named to SEC Community Service Team

ATHENS, Ga. — Caroline Craig was selected to represent the Georgia women’s golf team on the 2022 SEC Community Service Team, the league office announced.

Craig, who was also named to the SEC Community Service team in 2021, is active in service projects both in Athens and in her hometown of Sautee Nachoochee, Ga.

As a member of UGA’s Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), Craig’s activities included volunteering for Girl Power events for Girl Scouts in the Athens area, assisting with United Way efforts to assemble senior care packages, participation in Special Olympics activities at Foley Field, participating in UGA’s Relay For Life, contributing to Project Angel Tree efforts, and walking with elementary school students in “Walk A Bulldog” at school as part of Safe Routes to School activities. She also led the golf team’s adoption of a local girl for Christmas, which included selecting clothes, toys, and other necessities.

In his hometown, Craig helped White County Backpack Buddies, which helps ensure students have nutritious meals on the weekends; volunteers at Helen Baptist Church; co-directed Fields of Faith as part of FCA; and participated in girls’ golf clinics at the Innsbruck Golf Club.

On the course, Craig appeared in eight tournaments during the 2021-22 season and produced one top 10 and three top 20 individual efforts. She placed fourth at the Lake Oconee Reynolds Invite and also finished in the top 20 at the Illini Invitational and the Lady Bulldog Invitational. Craig averaged 74.39 strokes as a junior, including seven par-or-better loops in 23 rounds. She hit a career-best 3-under 213 to help lead Georgia to the tag team title at the Illini Invitational.
