Gillibrand Seeks More LIHEAP Funding as Energy Bills Soar | Best Stories

Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand is calling on Congress to update the rules and funding package for the Low-Income Heating and Energy Assistance Program, LIHEAP, as residents of Northeast New York State is facing an estimated 39% increase in their heating bills this winter.

“That translates to about $50 more per month than last year,” Sen. Gillibrand said at a press conference Thursday.
